Ariana was rendered speechless.

Ariana tried to calm herself down. Getting a grip of herself, she answered, “Mr. Kingsman, Goldfront Bay is only
worth 500 million dollars. Brian faked the information to lure you into taking the bait and making you lose
money.
William released Ariana and took a seat on the couch, pouring himself a cup of coffee. He didn’t even bat an
eyelid as he said, “Keep talking.”
“The starting price for Goldfront Bay is 300 million dollars. Brian is planning to get someone to raise the bidding
price to 4 billion dollars. When that happens, you're going to lose more than 3 billion dollars, Mr. Kingsman.
“And with that, your finances will take a hit. That's how Brian's planning to get revenge on you for snatching his
project the last time.”

“I don’t have a reason,” Ariana said. “But we can make a bet, Mr. Kingsman.”

with Torrey Co, for five years, Mr. Kingsman.”
“Oh? Don’t the Torreys already have Brian as their sugar daddy? Why would you still want to collaborate with
me?”
“Brian cut off all ties withfor Evelyn. He's even attacking my company in every way as of late. I'm just doing
this to get back at him.”

“Does that mean you agree to the bet?”
“Agreeing is one thing, Believing you is another. And | never said | believed you.”

takes to please Brian and get back on his good side. How am | supposed to know whether this is just another
trap that you're laying down for me?”
William continued steadily, “But still, | guess we'll find out during the auction later tonight. Just as you said-if 1
lose, then I'll accept the consequences. It’s just that | don’t really trust you. That's all.”
In her past life, Ariana had no idea that William was such a scornful, petty person with a sharp tongue. Had she
known earlier, she would never have said such nasty things about him behind his back.
Still, Ariana smiled somewhat politely at him and said, “It’s your choice whether you want to believe rue or not,
Mr. Kingsman.”
With that, Ariana left and slammed the door shut behind her.
As soon as Ariana left, the smile on William's face disappeared. He called up his secretary’s number and said
coldly, “I'll be personally attending the auction for the Goldfront Bay land tonight.”
Selena had been waiting for Ariana on the seventh floor for more than an hour. When she finally saw Ariana
walking toward her, she asked, “So, how did it go? Did you manage to get the money?”
“I think so.”
All jokes aside, it didn’t matter that William won the argument against her just now-Ariana knew that she'd
managed to plant a seed of doubt in William's head all the same.
