Ariana didn’t know what William was trying to pull. Since getting to know him, she’d discovered he was much
more sly than he seemed. She wasn’t too interested in his reward but wanted to know how he'd appeared at the
right time.
With that thought in mind, she leaned close and sniffed hit. “You reek of alcohol... Did you cafter gathering
with friends for drinks?”
He nodded and indicated for her to continue. She frowned. “You were probably discussing business here if you
could show up at the right time.”
“Nope.” William wiggled a finger before her face. “You guessed wrong, so there won't be a reward.”
“You-"
Before she could continue, he opened the door to another private room, revealing the professors from Glea

Their gazes landed on William and Ariana.
“Mr. Kingsman, this is...”
“Isn't this Ariana Torrey from my faculty? You haven't shown up for classes or been answering your phone. We
know you're getting engaged soon, but your education should be your top priority.” The head of the faculty stood
up. She knew who Ariana was. Brian was one of Glea College's investors, after all.
“Sorry, but | have something to discuss with this student.” William smiled and led Ariana out of Nyte Club.
She was still stunned from seeing the professors. “What are you playing at, William? Why were you drinking with
Glea College's professors?”
“It's Teacher's Day today, Ms. Torrey,” William said. “I'm a tenured professor at the college-it’s not weird for me
to attend a gathering with my colleagues, is it?”
“Of course it is!”
With William's status in Silverport City, even the dean of the college wasn’t important enough to attend a
gathering with him, let alone the professors.
“Now, now.” He pushed Ariana out of the club. “Your friend is still waiting for you.”
He signaled that they could speak over the phone. Then, he turned and left.
Ariana wanted to press him for more information, but Selera was already calling her. “Ari! Over here, Ari!”
Ariana approached Selena, who heaved a sigh of relief when she saw the former was fine. “Thank God you're
okay. | guess William is a pretty good friend after all!”
“What?” Arlana turned to look at her. “Did you contact him”
“Yeah! | was panicking out here when | saw William cout. | told him Brian took you away, and he went back
Inside.”
So, that was the truth. It was no wonder those professors had looked so confused upon seeing William-he’'d
returned after already bidding them goodbye.
Why had he attended a Teacher's Day gathering for Glea College's professors, though?

“I'm fine. You should head home. Don’t make your parents worry,” Ariana said.
“What about you?”
“My car's here. | had something to drink earlier, so Ill just wait for my family’s driver to pickup.”
Selena nodded when she was sure Ariana was fine. “Alright then. Letknow when you get home.”
