Chapter 365:
Despite Evelyn's gullibility, she was still Cathy’s mother. Suppressing her irritation, Cathy drew in a deep breath,
veiled the contempt in her gaze, and smoothly steered the conversation elsewhere with a gracious smile.
“Divination is really just a bunch of superstitions. My mom might have consulted a fortune teller, but she never
took it to heart or followed any advice to dodge fate.” Her smile was gentle, her manner poised.
“I believe she only brought it up because your mention of Kristopher andbeing a perfect match reminded her
of the fortune teller’s words. It was just a striking coincidence to her.”
Cathy then turned to Belinda with a hint of challenge in her tone. “Miss Nelson, if | recall correctly, Avery just
mentioned that you had something you wanted to discuss with me, right?”
Belinda, realizing Cathy had redirected the conversation, chose not to push further. She stood up, a resigned sigh
escaping her. “Yes, | do have something to discuss with you.”
As she spoke, her eyes drifted towards the villa’s garden. “Perhaps we could talk in private out there?”
Though wary of Belinda’s motives, Cathy, seeing that she had diffused the situation with Evelyn, felt obliged to
agree. “Of course, we've never really had a private chat, have we?”
Letting go of Kristopher’s arm, she turned to him with a hopeful look. “Kristopher, evening is upon us. Why not
stay for dinner? Let Avery dazzle you with her cooking talents. Haven't you missed her dishes?”
Kristopher flashed a smile and said, “Okay.”
Five years earlier, Joyce and Cathy had frequently lauded Avery's cooking skills, often urging Joyce to pack some
of Avery's dishes at hfor them to enjoy. He vividly remembered his first encounter with Avery's exceptional
cooking.

Before concluding, Evelyn cast a glance at Cathy, her smile tinged with a hint of urgency. “You know it's getting
late. If there's anything you need to discuss with Miss Nelson, please handle it swiftly. We wouldnt want to keep
Miss Nelson from her evening meal.”
It was apparent that Evelyn was concerned Belinda would linger and join them for dinner. Belinda noticed
Evelyn's anxious expression and couldn't resist a mocking sneer. “Don’t fret. | have no intention of intruding on
your cozy family dinner.”
She stretched her arms above her head, yawning, and strolled toward the garden. “I'm merely here to retrieve
sitems from Miss Miller and to ask about a few things. I'll be on my way as soon as I've finished, without
causing any delay.”
As Belinda walked off confidently, Cathy's brows knit together in concern, and she followed. “You cto get
something from me? What exactly are you here for?”
