Belinda hurried out from the confines of Eden View, the darkness slowly enveloping her. Barefoot, she walked
along the road, phone in hand, heading toward the city center while calling her friend.
There was a pause before Madisyn replied, her voice tinged with confusion. “You... Have you met with Cathy
yet?”
“Mhm.”
As Belinda hurried along, she idly played with a phone she had obtained from Cathy’s servant, her voice
bubbling with excitement. “You'll never guess what | managed to get.”
The device in her grip wasn’t hers, but Joyce's. When Joyce had acquired these phones five years ago, she had
chosen identical models in the scolor, making them nearly indistinguishable to an untrained eye. It was a
mistake made by Cathy's servant. And due to the dim light in the garden, Cathy likely hadn't noticed the error
and had handed over the wrong phone.
Knowing the limited transport options, Belinda had decided against staying for dinner at Eden View. She feared
Cathy might discover the error and insist on retrieving her phone.
On the other end of the line, Madisyn’s sigh conveyed her impatience. “Get in the car, then we'll talk.”
No sooner had she ended the call than a red sports car pulled up beside Belinda. As the window lowered,
Madisyn’s face appeared, her frown illuminated under the streetlights. “I've been waiting here for quite some
time.”

car. So, | knew he brought you here.”

Cathy and Evelyn, and you are the outsider. Faced with such odds, | feared you might be coerced, so | stayed
hidden and watched from outside the villa.”
Madisyn then eyed Belinda curiously. “What was it you said you had?” With a sly smile, Belinda produced the
phone and flaunted it before Madisyn. “Take a look!”
Madisyn examined the phone closely. Her eyes sparkled as they landed on a small nick on the edge of the
phone. “Is that Joyce's phone? Did Cathy really hand it over without a fuss?”
Belinda shook her head and detailed the mix-up with Cathy’s servant. “No wonder.”
Madisyn, unable to hide her excitement, buckled her seatbelt and started the car. “Where are we heading?” They
were uncomfortably close to Eden View. To avoid Cathy discovering the mix-up and pursuing them, it was
prudent to leave promptly.
