Chapter 373:
“I think Miss Nelson must have been picked up by someone,” Cathy suggested, her lips pursing slightly as she
tried to offer comfort. “Before she left, she mentioned she was going to meet her boyfriend. Maybe Fred picked
her up.”
Yawning from fatigue, she continued, “Kristopher, since we can’t find her, let's go back. At least there's a signal
at Eden View. Once we're back, we can try contacting Miss Nelson again or ask someone to help track her down.
It's better than driving around aimlessly, right?”
Kristopher frowned but stubbornly dialed Belinda’s number again.
Indeed, Cathy had a point. He should have tried contacting Belinda back at Eden View, where the signal was
reliable. At the time, he had assumed Belinda wouldn't have gone far, not anticipating the lack of signal in the
suburbs or the difficulty in locating her.
As he was filled with regret, to his surprise, Belinda’s phone suddenly connected!
A rush of relief washed over Kristopher as he held the phone to his ear. But before he could speak, a clear male
voice answered from the other end. “Hello, who is this?”
When Kristopher heard a male voice answer the phone, his expression immediately tensed. After a moment, he
furrowed his brows and asked, “Who are you?” The night had settled in deep; it was well past nine, shrouded in
darkness.
Why would a man be answering Belinda’s phone at such an hour?

Kristopher’s nsparked a surge of excitement in the man’s response. “I'm Fred!”
Those words made Kristopher’s heart sink.
He remembered Cathy mentioning earlier that Belinda had planned to meet Fred.

“Mr. Cox.”
Fred's laughter broke through the silence as he noticed Kristopher’s hesitation. “Are you looking for Belinda?
She's in the shower right now. Would you like her to call you back once she’s out?”
Kristopher knew Belinda to be a private person, always cautious. Yet here she was, having left her phone with
Fred while she showered. The implications were clear in such a setting: a man and a woman alone, one of them
in the shower.
Kristopher clenched the phone tightly, his knuckles whitening. His eyes narrowed, and the chill in the car's
interior seemed to deepen. “Where are you?”
Fred glanced over at the tissue box on the bedside table. “We're at a hostel named Night Paris in the old town.”
“Okay!”
