Chapter 819
The next day at Cresthaven Sunshine Kindergarten, Margot was brimming with excitement as soon as she
stepped into the building. Her mind was clearly racing with ssecret thought, as her head bobbed from side
to side, causing her pigtails to bounce along with her movements.
Manley noticed this and gave Hayes a subtle nudge, nodding in Margot's direction.
"What's up?" Hayes asked, frowning in concern.
Manley looked worried, "Is Margot having one of her spells again? Why is she grinning like that for no reason?"
Hayes watched Margot, who was giggling to herself not far away, with increasing curiosity. He'd tried several
times to catch her attention, even checked her face for signs, but to no avail.
He had asked her to draw something, but that didn't work either!
Every attempt left him stumped, yet Hayes was determined.

Because, clear as day, he could see that Margot's dad's profile was an exact match for his own father's! There
was no way he could be mistaken about that.
So, he knew he had to find an opportunity to meet this man named Silas.
But figuring out how to arrange such a meeting was proving to be quite the puzzle.
The last session before lunch was art class, and as the tto meet Marguerite drew nearer, Margot's
excitement was mingled with a bit of nervousness. She had so much she wanted to say, but she worried
Marguerite might not believe her, or worse, think she was just making it all up.
Where should she begin? Maybe from six months ago...
Bzzzz-
The sudden, tiny vibration of her wristwatch broke through her thoughts. She glanced down to see a message on
her kiddie smartwatch:
[Meetat the school gate.]
Huh?
Was Ms. Marguerite here already? But art class wasn't even over yet!
Margot quickly checked the tand realized there was still a whole forty minutes left before class ended!
She didn't want Marguerite to wait too long at the gate, and truth be told, she was getting a bit impatient herself.
She couldn't wait any longer and decided to make a little fib about a tummy ache to get to the bathroom. Once
her teacher nodded her approval, Margot eagerly slipped out of the classroom.
But as she reached the school gate, she found the street outside deserted, except for a white sedan parked
nearby.
The midday sun was blazing hot, so maybe Ms. Marguerite was waiting inside the car to keep cool?
That had to be it!
With that thought, Margot cheerfully ran over to the car and tried to open the door, but it was locked.
She tapped on the window, but no one responded.
What was going on?
The tinted windows prevented her from seeing inside, so Margot pressed her little hands and face against the
glass, trying to peer in.
After quite a bit of effort, she realized the car was empty.
What was happening?
Quickly, Margot sent a message to Marguerite via her smartwatch.
But just then, she noticed through the reflection in the car window that a shadow had appeared behind her.
Before she could turn around, a black hood was suddenly pulled over her head.
Everything went dark as her arms were swiftly bound behind her, and in the next moment, she was lifted and
tossed into the car.
