Chapter 827
The lively atmosphere in the room suddenly quieted down. Penelope and Jocelyn exchanged glances, unsure of
what to say.
The passing of Frederick and Teresa had hit Marguerite hard, so they rarely spoke about them at home.
But today, Marguerite didn't show any signs of sadness. She took the princess dress from Miley's hands with a
small smile and said, "Letput it away for her."
Miley grinned, "Teresa was always buggingto buy her a princess dress. When | saw one while shopping the
other day, | just instinctively picked it up for her." Teresa had always been crazy about dressing up, and her
closet was filled with costumes. There were outfits for Spider-Man, Black Widow, Elsa, Sleeping Beauty...

But she never got her favorite Snow White costume.
Marguerite felt a little pang in her heart but didn't want to dampen the mood. She turned to Miley with an open
hand and asked, "Where's my gift?”
Miley glanced over at Penelope and Jocelyn, then exchanged a look with Robert. Finally, she put on a
mischievous grin and wrapped an arm around Marguerite's shoulders. "I got you something really special."
Marguerite looked puzzled. “What did you do?"
Miley was always full of surprises. "I found a fortune teller and had your fortune read."
Marguerite blinked. "Really? You?"
"Yep! And the fortune teller said you're in for a lot of romance, but with the wrong kind of people. So, we paid to
have a little ritual done to turn those bad romances into good ones. After the ritual, he told us to tell you not to
worry. He said speople and things are already on their way to you."
Marguerite just stared. "Seriously?"
Miley couldn't help but laugh but still nudged Marguerite playfully. "Why the long face?"
Marguerite blurted out, "So all my recent romantic encounters were thanks to your ritual? No wonder."
Miley caught a whiff of gossip and leaned in with a teasing wink. "Oh, really?"
Realizing she'd said too much, Marguerite shot her a look. "No, no, | was just kidding."
Miley shrugged and turned to link arms with Penelope and Jocelyn, launching into a lively recount of her travel
adventures, leaving the older couple in fits of laughter.
Meanwhile, Robert turned to Marguerite, his voice warm and gentle. "Hayes just called'Uncle’ instead of
'Godfather.' It's a bit strange for me."
"You think that's strange? I'm still not over you two getting hitched and running off on a honeymoon without a
word! No wedding, no nothing. Every girl wants a ceremony, you know?"
Robert's smile grew wider as he glanced at Penelope and Jocelyn, then pulled Marguerite aside, a secretive look
on his face.
Marguerite looked at him, puzzled. "What's up?"
"I've got something to tell you, but you have to promise to keep it a secret."
Marguerite crossed her arms, amused. "How many people have you told that to?"
"I swear! Besides Miley, you're the first!"
Her curiosity piqued, Marguerite asked, "Alright, spill. What is it?"
