Chapter 553
"Computer Science," Yolanda replied casually.
To her, the major didn't matter much. Her main goal was to return to Creybia, and attending Creybia University
was the perfect cover. However, she politely declined Colin's offer since she had already promised Harvey that
she would attend the early admissions assessment for Creybia University the next day.
After all, there was a difference between being granted special admission by Colin and earning her spot through
the academy's channels. If she accepted Mr. Rothman's help, her achievement wouldn't be credited to First
Academy.
For mid-level schools like First Academy, every student accepted into a prestigious university was a badge of
honor. Harvey had even bent the rules to admit Yolanda. He knew her exceptional hacking skills would bring
Follow on NovᴇlEnglish.nᴇtglory to the academy.
"Is that so? What a shame."
Colin shook his head with genuine regret but could see she wasn't putting on airs. "Well, with your talent, I'm
sure you'll ace the Computer Science exam."
Though he had considered helping her secure a spot in the program directly, he wasn't familiar with the specific
admission criteria for Computer Science and didn't want to overstep. Besides, he had no doubt in her ability to
excel. Given her intelligence, her performance in Computer Science would likely rival her results in physics.
"| appreciate the good wishes!" Yolanda said with a polite smile. She glanced at the clock before continuing, "I've
got something to take care of this afternoon, so let's skip the meal. It really wasn't a big deal, Mr. Rothman. You
don't need to feel obligated."
"No way! | insist on treating you to a meal to express my gratitude," Mr. Rothman said firmly.
Lawrence reminded him cautiously, "Mr. Rothman, don't forget you're scheduled to visit the city's education
department this afternoon."
"Oh..." Mr. Rothman frowned. He realized he'd nearly forgotten about that.
"In that case, let's not worry about formalities," Yolanda said, taking the opportunity to steer the conversation
away from the subject. She then turned to Lawrence and added, "I'm leaving my test paper in your hands. I'll be
checking the results in two weeks."
"Of course! | guarantee nothing will go wrong with your paper!" Sweating under Colin's watchful eye, Lawrence
made his assurances loud and clear.
"Fine, we'll look for another chance," Colin said with a hint of reluctance. His eyes followed Yolanda as she walked
away.
"What a remarkable student," he murmured, gazing at her retreating figure. "Even in Creybia's elite schools, it's
rare to find someone so talented and grounded."
Yolanda's excuse about having plans that afternoon was just that-an excuse. It had only been a small gesture of
kindness, and she didn't think it warranted a meal. Besides, she'd been busy lately helping out at Willow Creek
Clinic, where the number of patients had increased significantly.
She hadn't seen Gavin in a while either. He was representing the Savage Group on a business trip to Josona and
had taken an extended leave from the academy.
They kept in touch with brief video calls every evening, during which he promised to bring back slocal
specialties for her. She was particularly looking forward to the grilled oyster he'd mentioned.
Before her rebirth, the Hoffman family had a chef from Josona who specialized in traditional Josonian cuisine.
Since her rebirth, she hadn't found a restaurant in Riverdale that cclose to replicating that flavor-not even
the high-end ones at five-star hotels.
