Chapter 822
Men understand other men's thoughts best.
No matter how deeply Leon tried to hide his desires, Zachary saw right through him.
Though he tried to control himself, his mood had soured completely. Getting into the car, he couldn't help but
take out sfrustration on the door.
Sarah could guess what was bothering him but pretended not to notice.
Fortunately, Mia was in the car. She rolled her eyes and spoke up first. "Zachary, what's wrong?"
Zachary had never been good at hiding things from Sarah. His face darkened as he tried to soften his tone.
"What's his condition?"
Sarah played dumb. "Who are you talking about?"
Zachary honked the horn, his anger intensifying. "Sarah!"
Mia deliberately chimed in, "I know! That guy said he has lovesickness, and it's really serious too."
Zachary let out a cold laugh that seemed to drop the car's temperature several degrees.
Mia glanced nervously at her brother's expression and couldn't help rubbing the goosebumps on her arms.
She was most afraid when her brother looked like this.
Follow on NovᴇlEnglish.nᴇtShe remembered clearly-whenever Zachary wore that expression, someone was about to have a very bad day.
The three of them rode in silence. Mia had stayed up late the night before and fell asleep halfway through the
ride, using Sarah's lap as a pillow.
Through the rearview mirror, Zachary watched Sarah gently stroke Mia's hair, and felt an unexpected pang of
jealousy. He couldn't stop himself from saying, "She's heavy. You can move her head aside."
Sarah shot him a look, annoyed by his chattiness. "Focus on driving."
Zachary had no choice but to shut up.
When they reached Sarah's place, she carefully moved Mia's head onto a small pillow. Seeing the girl sleeping
peacefully, she quietly got out of the car.
Before she could steady herself, Zachary loomed over her with overwhelming presence, his tone filled with
displeasure. "Stop treating him."
Sarah found herself trapped between his arms and the car, forced to look up at his refined features. "I already
accepted his money."
Zachary replied without hesitation, "How much? I'll pay you double. Just make sure he never shows up in front of
you again."
Sarah was so exasperated she almost laughed. "Zachary, be reasonable. He has legs-how am | supposed to
control where he goes? He's not a robot, and don't have a remote control." s
Zachary fell silent for a few seconds, then changed tactics. "Then avoid him. If he keeps bothering you, call me."
Sarah rolled her eyes and poked his chest with her finger, deliberately ignoring how his gaze suddenly
darkened. "Sir, we live in a civilized Society Could you maybe not be so paranoid? s
Seeing that Zachary wasn't ready to give up on convincing her, Sarah took advantage of his distraction to duck
under his arm and dart away, disappearing into the building entrance like rabbit.

Zachary turned around and leaned lazily against the car door, gazing at the now-
empty hallway with an indulgent chuckle.
Leon wasn't nearly as nonchalant as he appeared on the surface.
He'd always been the type who had to possess whatever caught his interest.
He'd only been playing around with the chase because it amused him-acting like slovesick teenager.
But Zachary's threat had shattered that game.
Though Leon had never directly crossed swords with Zachary, he knew the man's methods wouldn't be easy to
handle.
If he kept playing this game, he might walk into a trap someday-hardly worth the risk.
But giving up wasn't an option either.
After leaving the university, Leon made a U-turn and headed straight to the Wilson family residence.
