Chapter 473
Chapter 473
Every night, the bed would be in perfect order before she went to sleep, but by morning, the bed would be a
mess, with the sheets lying on the floor.
Groggily opening her eyes, she found herself in an unfamiliar room and was bewildered for a moment before
remembering where she was.
Where is the patient? With such a high fever, where could he have gone? Ella was completely puzzled.
She got up, found her phone, and checked the time-it was already past nine in the morning. “Ah, it’s so late,”
she exclaimed.
What did Lorenzo say tolast night? Something about eating oatmeal and cooking a meal? But at this hour, is
it still breakfast? she pondered.
Ella rubbed her eyes, left Lorenzo’s room, and went downstairs, yawning all the way.
Lorenzo was in the living room, smoking a cigarette. He saw Ella scratch her already disheveled hair, making it
look even more like a bird's nest.
“Awake?” he asked.

Ella’s eyes widened in surprise as she looked at him. Seeing Lorenzo reminded her of what had happened last
night, and her gaze instinctively dropped.
Cto think of it, what Stephanie had told her might be true. After all, she had wiped his body for so long last
night, and he hadn’t had any reaction at all.
Following her gaze, Lorenzo's expression changed instantly. “What are you looking at?” he suddenly asked.
Ella snapped back to reality and quickly shook her head. “No, | wasn’t looking at anything.”
Though she said nothing was wrong, she couldn't help but think to herself, ‘What a waste of such a good
physique and a handsface, yet he’s... not interested!
Seeing that Lorenzo wasn’t responding, Ella cleared her throat. “Um, you shouldnt be smoking right now,” she
gently reminded him.
Lorenzo raised an eyebrow. No one had ever told him that before. Injured or not, he didn’t think smoking was a
problem.
Ella’s stomach growled a little. There wasn’t even a cook in the kitchen now, which meant that even if Lorenzo
didn’t eat, she would have to cook for herself.
“Um, shall | make something for you to eat?” she offered.
Lorenzo looked puzzled. “Huh?”
Ella explained, “At this hour, it'll probably be close to noon by the tI finish cooking. How about we skip the
oatmeal?”
Making oatmeal was quite troublesome, mainly because it took too long to cook. She just wanted something
quick.
Lorenzo raised an eyebrow. “So, what do you suggest?”
“How about pasta?” she proposed. “It's quick to make, and I've made it for Stefi before. She said it was
delicious.”
Lorenzo didn’t particularly like pasta, but he didn’t object either. “Chere,” he said.
Ella hesitated. “Wh-what for?” She didn’t want to get close to this intimidating man.

Lorenzo didn’t say anything more, just quietly looked at her.
Ella sighed inwardly. Since this was Lorenzo's place, she had to listen to him.
She reluctantly walked over to Lorenzo. The height difference between them was quite significant. Standing in
front of him, she felt like a little girl.

Lorenzo reached out and touched her cheek. His sudden action made Ella instinctively step back. “Wh-what are
you doing?
She didn’t understand why he was being so intimate. They certainly weren't in a relationship where that was
appropriate.
“There's blood on your face,” Lorenzo said.
Ella blinked. “Huh? Blood? Where?”
“Probably from the nosebleed you had while taking care oflast night, Lorenzo explained
Ella’s heart skipped a beat. ‘Oh no, | haven't even cleaned that up yet? She instinctively wiped her face and felt
sdried particles. Clearly, it was dried blood.
Ella felt so embarrassed she could dig a mansion with her toes. Seeing her flustered state, Lorenzo's eyes
crinkled with amusement. “Go wash your face first,” he said.
“Okay,” Ella replied, turning and practically running away.
Watching her retreating figure, Lorenzo's lips curled into an amused smile. ‘Keeping her around might not be so
bad after all,’ he thought to himself.
At that moment, Lorenzo seemed to have forgotten how Ella had ended up by his side in the first place.
