Since he had just reassuredthat we were like family now, I didn't see a reason to refuse.
After hanging up, I sighed in relief. It seemed like nothing had happened to Logan, but the dream still unsettled me.

If Ashton had requested a day off for me, Alex would've surely agreed. Still, his actions madefeel slightly uneasy, as though he was overstepping.
Even though I knew he was just worried about me, I only replied with a simple, "Okay." Despite Ashton's insistence, I went to the office after breakfast. My legs were sore, as if I'd climbed a mountain, but I didn't want to sit idle at home.
"Huh? What are you doing here? Didn't you take the day off?" Alex asked, holding a cup of coffee as he bumped into me.
"When did I say that?" I shot back, raising an eyebrow.
Alex froze for a moment before chuckling awkwardly. "Must've been my mistake." He was clearly covering for Ashton. How strange, considering they'd only just met.
