Chapter 428
"Mr. Hansen was poisoned too?"
"Yes, | treated him myself. That's why I'm so certain." Looking at Vic, Yolanda extended her right hand to him.
"Letcheck you as well."
Vic complied and let her take his pulse.
"There's no toxin inside of you. You can rest easy." Yolanda examined Vic too. She found nothing wrong with his
body.

"This goes deeper than | thought..." Vic fell silent for a moment before saying, "Thank you, Ms. Henderson. I'll get
to the bottom of this. And I'll speak with Mr. Hansen soon."
He and Nigel represented two generations of power in Riverdale. If something happened to both of them, who
would benefit from this?
His eyes darkened as he considered the implications. This was clearly premeditated poisoning. Something must
have gone wrong for the poison to end up in Beatrice's food instead.
"Riverdale's about to get interesting again. But don't worry, Ms. Henderson. | won't mention your involvement in
my investigation!" Vic assured her. "You won't face any blowback from this."
Yolanda nodded, then remembered something. She said, "Mr. Seinfeld, there's one more thing..."
An hour later, Vic's security detail drove Yolanda back to the Henderson mansion. Joe and Paul were still in the
living room. They looked miserable. Clearly, Paul's girlfriend Skylar had not been able to help either.
Before returning, Yolanda had asked Vic to keep Diana in custody overnight and release her tomorrow morning.
Diana needed this wake-up call. Otherwise, she might fall for another scam and do something even more foolish.
After all, who would invest a million dollars in a random formula from Eleanor and dream of striking it rich? How
much more reckless could she get?
When the door opened, everyone looked up hopefully. They then deflated when they saw it was just Yolanda.
Diana's overnight stay in custody was now certain.
"Where have you been? The family is in crisis and you're out having fun?" Joe snapped.
"Useless as always." Alice snorted and said, "She's just in the way here anyway!"
"Even Skylar has been trying to help while you're out fooling around. What an ungrateful piece of trash!" Joe was
furious since Harold's family had spent hours stoking his anger.
"A stranger shows more loyalty than you!"
"Uncle Joe, don't worry. Skylar and | will figure something out. Aunt Diana might be released tomorrow." Paul was
confident. "Right, Skylar?"
"Mm..." Skylar responded absently.
In truth, she was helpless. There was no way she could talk to Vic. And when she had called her parents for help,
they had scolded her and warned her to stay out of it. But with Paul and Joe counting on her, she was caught
between a rock and a hard place.
