Chapter 433
"Wait for me, Ms. Henderson, I'll cto pick you up from your house myself!" Vic hung up before Yolanda could
respond this time.
Putting her phone away, Yolanda felt that Vic was quite an anxious man.
Meanwhile, Joe and his group had arrived at Crystal Palace. During the drive, Joe kept telling Paul, "Book the best
private room, and call Grandma and your aunts too. Let's have a proper family gathering today!"
"I've called Grandma and the others." Paul seemed cheerful as well.
Crystal Palace was one of Riverdale's finest restaurants. Paul had always wanted to go but never had the chance.
Follow on NovᴇlEnglish.nᴇtEven after dating Skylar, who was a VIP member, he had felt too awkward to let his girlfriend treat him. So, he
still had not managed to dine there.
When their group reached the entrance, they were stopped by the hostess.
"We have a reservation for a VIP private room!" Paul announced confidently with his chest puffed out.
"I'm sorry, but the entire restaurant has been rented out today. We're not accepting any other guests," the
hostess replied with a polite smile, but it was less deferential than one might expect for VIP guests. "If you'd like
to dine here, please make a new reservation for tomorrow."
Rented out? Diana and the others were stunned. Did that mean they couldn't eat at Crystal Palace today? Paul's
face changed instantly as he demanded, "Why wasn't this mentioned when | called to make the reservation?"
He had made the booking himself and had just been bragging about having Skylar's VIP card. Being turned away
now made him feel embarrassed in front of Joe's family.
"We sincerely apologize, we just received notice from our boss." The hostess’ smile grew fainter. "Crystal Palace
has a policy that regular VIP reservations must be canceled when a Platinum VIP books the entire venue. We're
very sorry, but please cback another time."
This was indeed Crystal Palace's policy, which was designed to emphasize the prestige of Platinum VIP members.
But Paul was unaware there even was such a thing as Platinum VIP. He thought the staff was just being difficult
and grew angrier.
"What do you mean regular VIP? I'm a VIP here who spends hundreds of thousands each twe dine here!" He
pulled out Skylar's membership card and waved it at the hostess. "Let us in now, don't makeangry!"
The hostess glanced at the card in Paul's hand, and her smile completely vanished. "Sir, that's just a mid-tier
membership card. We have hundreds of members with that card, so it hardly qualifies as VIP status. Please don't
make this difficult for me, alright?"
"Making this difficult?" Paul snorted coldly. "You're the ones looking down on us! What right do you have to keep
us out?"
"Exactly! This is a public establishment. We have a reservation, so why can't we enter?" Alice chimed in.
"We're eating here today no matter what. If you don't let us in, I'll report you to the Commerce Bureau!"
"Maybe we should just go..." Noticing the hostess’ attitude, Joe and Diana guessed that someone important must
have bought out the restaurant.
There were other famous restaurants in Riverdale. While making a last-minute reservation might be tricky, it
would be better than wasting targuing here.
