My stance was firm, but Aubrey frowned, a flicker of irritation flashing in her eyes.
“But...”
“No burs.” 1 cut her off sharply. “Why not givea chance?”
“You chasedbefore. Now it’s my turn to chase you. What’s wrong with that?”
Bathed in moonlight, | looked at her as if making a vow. “I will make you fall in love withagain.”
“No way!”

My words must’ve struck a nerve. Aubrey shovedback, her expression instantly cooling. “It’s
too late. I'm going home.”
The sudden coldness nearly shattered the control | had over the violent Alpha instincts bubbling
under my skin.

“Would it be so bad if | pursued you?” | tried to soften my tone, even coaxing her a little. “Stay by my side. Be
Shadowmoon Pack’s Luna. No one would dare hurt you again. Why say no? Why get angry?”
But my compromise only earned a snort of laughter.
“I'm not mad. I'm just surprised that a dignified Alpha would want to chase me. Tell you what-since | chased you
for eleven years, why don’t you try chasingfor eleven years too?”
Her mocking words hit like a bucket of cold water. | suddenly realized there was still an invisible chasm between
us. Why?
Aubrey’s POV
While he was still stunned, | turned and rushed back into my apartment building.
Alpha Henry didn’t follow me-probably too shocked by my arrogance. After all, | was just an Omega without a
wolf, and | had the audacity to suggest that a top-tier Alpha pursuefor eleven years... and even then, |
wasn't promising I'd say yes.
To any proud Alpha, that was pure humiliation.
But what shockedeven more-
Half an hour later, Alpha Henry actually had his Beta, Cam, deliver a sapphire-blue gown covered in diamond
dust. He invitedto a charity auction in two days.
He really wasn’t angry?
“Wow,” Ella whistled in my mind,/purring with mischief. “Sweetheart, the diamonds on that dress alone could
buy a small pack. Looks like our Alpha’s playing for keeps-"
It really was a stunning dress-like wearing the entire starry sky-but...

Icouldn’t begin to figure out what Alpha Henry was thinking. Not that it mattered. He could do
whatever he wanted. | wasn’t going back. In fact, | was already considering leaving Shadowmoon
Pack altogether once my wolf stabilized. Once Ella was fully back and wouldn’t disappear again, |
could go anywhere and still thrive.
That's for later. For now, | turned to Cam, who was still waiting for my answer.
“Okay. Tell Alpha I'll be there.”
“Understood. Have a pleasant evening,” Cam said, visibly relieved as he turned to leave.
I closed the door and carefully hung the gown in my closet. | hadn’t planned to go, but then |
remembered that the auction was tied to a specific plot of land. In my previous life, after that land
deal fell apart, Bailey had smugly said, “Good thing Uncle didn’t buy it. Our family would’ve gone
bankrupt.”
Well then. That sealed it. | had to make sure Bailey’s uncle Caesar bought it this time.
If the Lynn family went bankrupt, Aurelia would be forced to turn to her mysterious ally.
