Chapter 1339: He went straight for the food service manager. “Did I not suspend Nikolas? Who gave him clearance to do anything? And you thought it was smart to send a whole delivery team? Did you really think Cedric and Daniela wouldn't figure it out?" His voice grew louder. "And the worst part? You used our own form and claimed it cfrom the Lindsay family's hotel. You just gave Daniela solid evidence, and now the Lindsay family is pissed off too. What were you thinking?" The manager didn't get a second chance. Hamilton fired him on the spot. Then he turned to Nikolas. "How could you be this foolish? We're backed into a corner. Now what? What's your master plan?" Nikolas stayed silent. He hadn't expected Daniela and Cedric to respond this quickly-or this sharply.

Hamilton's eyes hardened. "So my words mean nothing now? Fine. If you're so eager to crash this empire, go ahead. But starting today, every title you hold in McCoy Group is gone. Let's see how far you get without them." Nikolas stumbled out of the room in a daze.

Behind him, Hamilton's secretary rushed to catch up. "Sir, don't take it personally. Your father had to make a move. It's all for show-to calm the public. He didn't mean all of it." But Nikolas wasn't listening anymore.

He looked back at the closed office doors, his face heavy with defeat.

"In his eyes, I'm good-for-nothing," he muttered.

That safternoon, Nikolas stood before cameras and issued a public apology.

And while the press tried to make sense of it all, Daniela's company dropped another blow.

One of their employees had slipped into a coma-because of that food.

This wasn't just a question of hygiene anymore.

It had turned into a full-blown food safety crisis.

As one of the biggest names in Oiscoll's dining scene, McCoy Group was hit hard.

That sday alone, their dining division lost millions.

The damage didn't stop there. The trust crisis rippled outward. Other sectors took hits too. Sales dropped across the board.

Later that night, Hamilton stopped Nikolas just as he was leaving a bar.

Hamilton handed him a report. Nikolas took one look and froze.

"This can't be right. No one should've passed out! All we did was add laxatives-to slow them down. That's it. How could someone tall m unconscious? And now they're throwing around words like 'safety concerns'? They're calling for a shutdown? That's absurd! Our food uses fresh ingredients. There's no reason for this!"

His voice cracked as he turned to Hamilton. "This isn't my fault, Father. It has to be Daniela She's the one doing this. She's framing me—trying to ruin me! You can't believe her!"

Hamilton didn't move. He stared straight at Nikolas. "You still don't get it, do you? What matters isn't what you did, It's what people think you did. McCoy Group is watching every move you make. That means every mistake you make stains all of us. And trust me, Daniela isn't done. This loss won't be the last." Nikolas stood still. He didn't know what to say.
