The family really didn't care whether they were having a boy or a girl; as long as the baby was healthy, that's all
that mattered.
"So, have you two thought about your wedding yet? Planning to do it here, or somewhere else?"
Karen's questions were always a bit out of left field. "If you're thinking about, say, the Bahamas or Hawaii, | need
to start shopping for sflowy beach dresses!"
"That's totally up to Felicity," Miles replied, shrugging. "Wherever she wants to go, whenever she wants to marry
me-I'm game."
Not like Miles got much say in this, honestly. If he had it his way, he'd marry Felicity tomorrow just to put his
mind at ease—no tfor second thoughts or complications.
Even though Calvin had technically lost out to him, the guy was still lurking around, looking for any opportunity.
And with Felicity being pregnant, Miles felt even less secure.
"Don't make it sound like I'm scontrol freak," Felicity shot back, looping her arm through her mom's. "It's

She definitely didn't want their once-in-a-lifethoneymoon to be spent with him glued to his phone, answering
work emails the whole time.
They'd thought about waiting, maybe until things at the Lopez Corporation calmed down a bit. But, of course, the
projects just kept piling up. When was there ever tto breathe?
"If you just say the word, I'll ditch all the work right now!" Miles promised.
At that, Jeffrey couldn't help but jump in. "Ha! That's classic Langston, just like
your old man. Get a girlfriend and suddenly forget work even exists!"
He barely finished his sentence before Everett walked in from outside.
"Jeffrey, care to repeat that?" Everett asked, eyebrow raised.
"No, no, I'm good!" Jeffrey shook his head so fast he looked like a bobblehead. "Didn't say a thing!"
Karen snorted, giving her husband a playful eye-roll. "You're hopeless, you know that? Everett walks in and you
turn to mush."
"Hey, it's not fear. It's called getting along. You just wouldn't understand," Jeffrey retorted.
Everett made his way over to his grandson, scooping him up and making silly faces. "Where's Abigail? Still with
Craig?"
Dorothy nodded. "Yeah, she'll probably be a while."
"Send her a message, would you? Tell her not to overdo it. If she's got too much on her plate, I'll send someone
to help."
"Oh, relax," Dorothy chuckled. "Craig's a handful, but he'd never let our Abigail wear herself out."
Even though Abigail and Craig were divorced, Dorothy still knew her former son- in-law pretty well. And she
suspected he was still hoping for a second chance.
"Yeah, well, remember when he said | could trust him with our daughter? Look how that turned out-Abigail got
her heart broken."
"Let it go, Everett." Dorothy frowned, giving his arm a gentle pat. "That was ages ago. Why are you still harping
on about it?"
"Because, after all these years, no one has hurt Abby but him," Everett grumbled, ruffling his grandson Elijah's
soft hair. Abby was his absolute pride and joy, no one messed with her.
If not for Abigail herself stepping in back then, he would have given Magnolia a piece of his mind, too. The
woman talked a big game, but she needed to learn that being a Lopez cwith sperks, so what if Abby
leaned on her family a bit? Sw
"Anyway, let's drop it. Since we're all here, why don't we help our son settle the wedding plans?" Dorothy
suggested quietly. "Might be good for Langston to finally get a date a set-he's been on edge for ages."
"And who's fault is that?" Everett muttered. "He was the one who nearly blew it last time, right when they were
picking out the dress." He grinned at Elijah. "Ain't that right,
buddy?"
Dorothy just sighed. "Honestly, Everett, aren't you a little old to still be this stubborn?"
