Sloane's eyes lit up with admiration when she saw the horse. “What a beautiful horse!”
Lucas smiled slightly, pride tinging his voice. “I remember you being great at riding last time. I'm sure you can
handle it.”
Sloane stepped forward and gently stroked the horse’s mane. The black stallion seemed to like her too, it
lowered its head and nuzzled her palm.
She turned back to Lucas with a smile. “Thank you. | love it.”
Seeing her smile filled Lucas with a quiet sense of satisfaction. His voice softened with fondness. “As long as you
like it.”
“Whoa, Lucas-is this the legendary Nightshade?” Samson circled the black horse, his tone overly tic and
full of envy. “This is the purebred you spent a fortune on in Drakovia, right? | heard it’s a champion in
international racing!”

Sloane looked at Lucas, surprised. “This horse is that valuable?”
Lucas shot Samson a glance, then turned back to her and replied calmly, “It's won a few titles, yes. So it has a
bit of a temper. But | believe you can tit.”
Without giving her a chance to refuse, he placed the reins firmly in her hands. “Go ahead, give it a try.”
“Okay.” Since he put it that way, Sloane didn’t hesitate. With a clean, graceful movement, she swung up into the
saddle.
She tugged gently on the reins and pressed her legs lightly into the horse’s sides. Nightshade responded
instantly, taking off at a swift gallop.
Lucas quickly mounted and chased after her.
Samson's eyes were still glued to Nightshade, his voice low as he muttered, “That horse is worth millions... Lucas
really doesn’t hold back...”
Benjamin couldn't help chuckling. He gave Samson a pat on the shoulder. “You should stop talking before you
get yourself in more trouble.”
Samson pouted, his tone sour. “I'm just jealous, I've never even touched a horse like that, and Sloane gets to
ride it...”

By the tthey reached the foot of the hunting grounds, Sloane had already bonded with Nightshade.
“You're amazing, Nightshade!” she praised, stroking its head.
Nightshade let out a proud snort, breathing warm air and rubbing its head affectionately against her leg.
Lucas arrived on horseback, catching sight of the harmonious pair. A smile tugged at his lips, his gaze filled with
warmth.
“Looks like it’s accepted you,” Lucas said with a smile.
Sloane looked up, her eyes bright with excitement. “It’s so intuitive, definitely worthy of being a champion.”
Trying to curry favor with Lucas and perhaps avoid his looming fate in Virelia, Samson quickly chimed in, “How
about we split into teams and make the hunt a competition?”
He glanced at Benjamin, then gave Lucas a not-so-subtle wink. “I'll team up with Benjamin.”
Benjamin played along. “Fine by me.”
Lucas, of course, saw right through Samson's intentions. Sitting quietly on his horse, he didn’t say a word, just
waited.
Jill gave her reins a little shake and rode up beside Sloane, her voice excited. “Sloane, let's team up!”
Seeing Jill about to foil his plan, Samson quickly jumped in. “Hey, Yvette-why don’t you go with Cameron
instead? Two girls on one team... that’s a pretty weak combo.”
Jill was instantly offended. “Who says girls are automatically weak? Women hold up half the sky, okay?”
“Exactly. We're a powerhouse duo,” Sloane added, glancing coolly at Samson.
“Exactly!” Jill was fired up now. “Just wait-we’re gonna beat you so bad you'll be crying for your mama.”
Realizing he’d landed himself in hot water again, Samson looked like he was about to cry.
In the end, it was Lucas who stepped in. “Alright. That's settled—I'll team up with Cameron.”
