Lucas placed a glass of juice in front of Sloane. She looked up at him and said softly, “Thanks.”
Lucas took the seat beside her, legs crossed with easy elegance, one arm resting on the chair while his fingers
tapped in a steady rhythm. His other hand lay casually across his lap. Even at rest, he carried the air of someone
born to command.
He looked at Sloane with those deep-set eyes, the corner of his mouth curved in a faint, unreadable smile. “Your
brother's been showing up at Stonebridge University a lot lately.”
Sloane blinked, caught off guard. She turned to look at him, thoughts racing. Lucas would never bring something
like that up if it didn’t mean something.
Then a flash of Summer's face crossed her mind-and everything clicked.
Jill had told her that Samantha and Summer had been glued to each other recently.
If Adrian kept coming to campus under the pretense of seeing Samantha... it meant he was also constantly
crossing paths with Summer.
