Chapter 642: Why Not Both?
Carl, watching from the examiner's desk, noted the sthing, and silently hoped she wouldn't have to repeat
the exam.
“If she doesn’t want to focus on her studies she shouldn't chere to waste our time,” a stern examiner
commented as he wrote something down.
Judging by the look on his face, it couldn’t be anything good.
Many other students went in one after another until the last exam ended. The tension in the hall finally eased,
replaced by sighs of exhaustion and nervous laughter. Everyone had done their best, yet their minds couldnt
rest, not with the results still pending.
They packed their notes and equipment, chatting in low tones about the questions, the patients, and the rumors
still swirling around Nnenna’s performance. Swere confident, others already regretting their mistakes, but
all shared one thought, tomorrow's majors might be even tougher.
Most of them left the academy grounds soon after, heading hto prepare for the third and fourth major
exams scheduled for the next day. Sleep would be a luxury tonight; everyone knew the real battle had only just
begun.
And though no one said it out loud, one nlingered quietly on every student's lips as they walked away,
Nnenna.
Darius jogged to catch up with Nnenna just as she stepped out of the teaching hospital, her white coat still
fluttering behind her.
“I heard the rumours. My girl destroyed the competition. If you can crush your Strategy exam tomorrow the way
you did today, I'll die a happy man,” he said, half joking, half serious.
Nnenna smiled, brushing her hair off her face. “First of all, it's not a competition. Secondly, don’t worry. | won't
disappoint you.”
“Good,” Darius replied full of smiles.
Nnenna smiled back, glancing around “Where's Carl and the others? | thought they were waiting.”
“Something cup,” he said, his tone turning more serious. “War preparations. They had to leave right after
your exam. Carl too, he went straight to join the meeting.”
“Then we should go,” Nnenna said simply.
Prigrian Castle - War Room 1
The doors slid open to reveal a long glass table surrounded by a mix of familiar and intimidating faces. A
massive map was spread across its surface, marked with red and blue pins that glowed faintly under the
chandelier.
Carl stood at the head of the table, his calm presence steadying the tension that filled the room. His expression
was gentle, but his eyes were sharp, focused.
Arthur leaned against the wall beside him, arms crossed, his usual coolness offset by the faint frown between his
brows.
Across the table sat William, one of Somto’s trusted strategists, energetic and fiery, the kind of man who
couldn't sit still when he was thinking.
Next to him was General Haru, Somto’s second in command, a pragmatic, calculating man with an ironic sense
of humor that often surfaced in the most inappropriate situations.
Then there was a very familiar person, Little Sweetie, perched on a chair too big for her, her delicate hands
clutching a cup of tea. Despite her small frand youthful face, her eyes were sharp with wisdom.

“We've confirmed that the western flank is exposed,” Carl said, his tone even but commanding. “If they push
through there, we'll lose access to two supply routes.”
William slammed a hand on the table. “Then we can’t afford to wait anymore. We should strike first before they
regroup.”
Arthur shook his head. “You want to charge blind into unknown terrain? That's suicide.”
“Better than waiting for death to walk in,” William shot back.
Before Carl could respond, the door opened again.
Darius stepped in first, slightly out of breath. “Sorry we're late.”
Behind him cNnenna. The murmurs in the room softened almost immediately.
“Princess Nnenna,” one of the generals said with a respectful nod.
Another, the oldest among them, smiled warmly. “It’s good to finally see you this close, child. Your voice was a
comfort to us back in those dark days.”
Nnenna’s expression softened. “And it’s good to finally meet you all properly,” she replied, her tone gentle yet
steady. “You fought beside my brother until the very end. I'll never forget that.”
General Haru chuckled under his breath. “You sound just like him when you say that, calm, but with that quiet
threat of ‘I'll make sure you don’t forget.'”
Laughter rippled through the room, easing the earlier tension.
Little Sweetie hopped down from her chair and rushed to hug Nnenna.
“Nnenna!” she called out happily, though there was a flicker of reluctance in her eyes. She already knew what
was coming next.
“Little Sweetie?” Nnenna blinked in shock. “What, how are you here? And with them?” she asked, one question
tumbling after another in disbelief.
“I work with them,” Little Sweetie replied softly.
Nnenna’s expression shifted from shock to outright disbelief.
“I'm sorry, Nnenna,” Little Sweetie continued quickly. “I wanted to tell you all this time, but if | did, | would've
been taken back, and | might never have seen you again.”
“Who hired you?” Nnenna asked, her tone steadier now, though her eyes still held confusion.
“General Somto did,” Little Sweetie said gently. “He askedto keep you safe until you were ready. But things
didn’t go as planned, so he had to take you away two years ago.”
Her voice softened as she spoke, and the others in the room listened quietly. They, too, hadn't known the full
details of Little Sweetie’s mission over the past decade.
“So... he’s been trying to keepsafe from the very beginning,” Nnenna murmured, her gaze distant, her voice
touched with sadness.
Then she exhaled and gathered herself again. “All these years, | never suspected a thing,” she said, laughing
quietly at herself. “A living, breathing special agent was my best friend, and | didn’t even know it.”
“Thank you, Little Sweetie. | appreciate your service.”
“It's more of a pleasure than service, Nnenna,” Little Sweetie sighed with a warm smile. “I thought | was coming
to protect a princess, someone way above my level, but instead, | found a friend.”
Her bright grin returned as she added teasingly, “It's been so long! You've grown even prettier, but don’t think
that means you can slack off in the war council.”
Nnenna laughed softly, returning the embrace. “I wouldn't dare.”
Carl watched the reunion with a faint, approving smile before clearing his throat gently. “Now that everyone's
here,” he said, the warmth in his voice quickly shifting back to command, “let's begin.”
The room fell silent again as he

A low murmur of agreement followed, the generals straightening in their seats.
Darius leaned closer to Nnenna, whispering, “Welcto the war room.”
Nnenna smiled faintly, her gaze fixed on the map. “Feels familiar,” she said.
And indeed, to her, it did.
William leaned forward, studying the map spread across the table. His tone was calm but intent.
“Nnenna, what do you think about deploying our forces through the Eastern Ridge? It's the shortest route to the
enemy's forward base, but we'll be exposed on three sides if they anticipate it.”
The room quieted as all eyes turned to her. Nnenna walked closer, scanning the map with quick, sharp eyes. Her
expression shifted from thoughtful to decisive.

For a moment, the room was silent. Even the older generals paused, nodding slowly as her words sank in. Carl's
brows lifted slightly in surprise, and Arthur exchanged a knowing look with William, one that said she’s right.
Darius broke the silence with a grin.
“Remindagain, are you preparing for your strategy exam tomorrow, or are we in one right now?”
The room chuckled lightly, easing the tension.
Nnenna smiled faintly. “Why not both?” she replied, her tone playful but calm.
“And who's that handsteacher of yours to thank for how prepared you are?” Darius added, pretending to
preen.
“Drop it, Darius,” Little Sweetie said, rolling her eyes with a grin.
