“The club?” | blurted out as | eyed him. That was the last thing | expected him to say, and as he hummed in
response, his fingers slid against the base of my spine and | felt a shudder slither up my spine, making a breath
hitch in my thrust.
“Yeah, why not?” He asked but it was hard forto cup with a response right now since | couldn't fully
think with his fingers distractinglike this.
“I- I just think that’s not necessary?” | breathed out while he rolled his eyes.
“We have just one more night to spend here anyway, | say we visit the club. You're clearly heartbroken. We can
let loose in the club, and drink till we get drunk.” He responded and | chewed on my bottom lip, turning what he
just said around in my mind. Going to the club does sound nice, however | was unsure of if | wanna do that right
now, cause it didn’t seem like | was up for
something like that. But he was right aboutfeeling heartbroken, so | guess a club might be able to help take
my mind off things for a while at least.
“What do you say, bunny?” He asked and | felt my here flutter a little before I glared at him.
“Stop with that nickname.”
“But I'm already used to it...” he breathed out on a soft laugh which had my stupid heartbeat fluttering again.
“Try harder...”
“I don’t want to. It's just one more night before we part ways, so suck it up.” He rolled his eyes as he responded
while | kept glaring at him. He smoothly slid off the cough and | squeaked, clutching his shoulders while he
chuckled.
“You should be assured that I'd never drop you at this point.” He drawled as he setdown, and I felt
Follow on NovᴇlEnglish.nᴇtembarrassed that | had just been sitting on him, when we had no reason to be doing that tight now. He nodded
at the outfit | had on tight now.
“Go change into something sexy. We're going clubbing.”
“So, are you gonna have a one night stand tonight?” Zane asked and I almost choked on my drink. Shortly after
we arrived at the club, Zane booked a vip corner for us and ordered a bunch of drinks
for us.
“W- why?” | finally managed, my grip tightening on my glass.
“To signify that you're ready to move on from Marco, obviously.” He pointed out and | sipped on my drink once |
stopped coughing, then | rolled my eyes.

“One night stands never appealed toanyway. I've always wanted something more emotional than sexual my
whole life.” | mumbled and Zane leaned back in his seat, regardingclosely with those intense eyes which
madesquirm.
“So... you're gonna still keep pining over my brother?” He asked bluntly and | huffed even as my cheeks turned a
deep shade of red.
“Of course not.” | shook my head as | responded. “And, | think I forgot to tell you this, but it seems like most of
the help you gave to me, to helpappeal to Marco and finally get noticed by him ended up working, cause he
confessed tothis morning.” | revealed and Zane appeared shocked, blinking slowly as he leaned forward.
“Confessed? About what?”
“Well, he toldhe was also in love with me.” | revealed and Zane blinked slowly as he leaned forward even
more.
“He really did that?”
| nodded while biting at the inside of my cheeks.
“Then... why were you sad if he did?” He asked and | sighed, feeling sadness settle within my chest.
“Cause he basically implied that he’d haveon the side as a side chick and | didn’t want that. | might love him
but that doesn’t mean that I'd settle for that kind of less. And since he didn’t call off his wedding despite
claiming to love me, it meant he didn’t loveenough. So, it hurts that now that he toldthose words that |
desperately wanted to hear, we still didn’t end up together.”
Zane had an awed look on as he finally leaned bsck in his seat. “I'm actually genuinely surprised that you told
him that, that you refused to settle on just crumbs. I'm very proud of you.”
Those words made my heart flutter while my cheeks grew hot, and | sipped on my drink to hide that.
“So... this means you'll actually try to move on once you return back to the states, right?” He asked and |
nodded fast.
“Yes, I'll really try to,”
He shook his head. “You don’t sound convinced enough. | want you to really put your mind to it. You deserve
someone better, someone who'll be very crazy over you, someone who would defend you without questions
outside instead of embarrassing you in public countless times. You deserve someone that actually cares about
you. Promisethat you won't just ‘try’ to move on, you'll actually fully move on.”
As his words washed over me, | swallowed emptily before nodding slowly. A thin feeling of determination settled
within me. He was right. | really do deserve better.

He nodded. “Good girl.”
The shiver that rolled down my spine at that moment completely caughtoff guard like those words had, and
as | felt my face grow flushed, | tried to quickly talk about something else to distract myself.
“So... did you end up succeeding in whatever it was that you planned to use our fake relationship to achieve?” |
asked and he blinked, clearly surprised by my question, then he arched a brow.
“So you still believed | had an ulterior motive?”
| rolled my eyes at that question. “Of course | do. I'm not stupid. However, | refrained from asking you about it
cause | wanted to be selfish. And | knew that if | pester you and you end up tellingthe truth, | might not like
it and start feeling guilty. So, | figured | was just better off not knowing. But at least now it’s all over so you can
tellthe truth now.”
His thumb rubbed over the rim of his glass as he kept regarding me, then he fondly shook his head. “I think it’s
better if you just remain clueless, but to answer your question, | didn’t end up achieving all that | hoped to
achieve.”
“Because the wedding wasn’t called off?
