| blinked a few times at the text message, unable to believe my eyes. Despite blinking a bunch of times, the
image still remained the sand | gasped in utter shock as | sat up, my heart lurching into my throat while my
heart pounded away.
The wedding has been called off?
It really has?
| read through the message one more time, then | slapped a hand over my mouth before | could scream out loud
from the amount of happiness whirling throughright now. This is exactly what | had prayed to hear since the
moment | got the wedding invite from Marco, and now that it was happening, my joy knew no bounds. | have
loved Marco for years, so this news was equivalent
owinning the damned lottery.
At the wedding yesterday, | had almost fainted countless times. | had thought that despite Marco confessing to
still be in love with me, it still wasn’t enough for him to end up changing his decision, out it seemed like | had
cto a conclusion fast cause clearly, Marco did end up changing his nind.
Which means since Aisha would be getting out of the picture, I'm the one who'd be replacing her. That was
initially my spot before she stole it, and now I'll just be taking back what's mine.
Finally... after five good years.
The happiness rushing throughwas so intense that it almost made tears of joy fill up my eyes.

| picked up my phone again, fully intending on calling Marco like he had askedto do in the text. However, |
paused as | blinked at the rest of Zane right after | closed Marco's inbox.
The text whereby Zade had askedto reach out to him if | wanted him to help replace my dress, and to keep
my promise to him. Said promise was the promise | gave him at the club last night, that | was gonna really try to
move on and give another man a chance.
I had genuinely meant those words last night, but now that the wedding got called off and Marco wanted me
bzck now, there's clearly no reason forto try to move on or something.
| let out a sigh as | reread Zade’s text again. There was no point inresponding, or to reach out to him to help
‘replace’ the dress he tore last night. | wasn’t stupid, that’s clearly just an excuse for us to still meet up again,
but I didn’t think that was necessary anymore now that Marco was back in my life.
Which was why | deleted the text message after a few moments, then | rose from the bed, feeling a little weird
on the inside as | packed up my stuff. If | had inked Marco was gonna textthose

words this morning, | definitely wouldnt have allowed Zade to ducklast night.

But at least after last night, it wouldn't ever happen again. We won't even cross paths again cause we had no
reason to, so | guess it was fine.
Right?
Only that the weird feeling withindidn’t lessen.
As | packed up, my body hurt from being fucked against the door last night, and | was sore between my legs,
which was a constant reminder of what happened last night, when | was trying to forget about it and not be
reminded of it with each movement i take.
As | waited for my plane to be called in the airport, my mind wandered as | sipped on my cup of coffee. So, since
Marco was now a single man again, this means now he'd cbe withonce again, right?
A giddy feeling settled withinat that thought and | sipped on my coffee to hold back the grin threatening to
spill across my face.
As soon as my flight got called, | winced as | stood up, reminded of Zade all over again. | exhaled breathlessly as
| moved across the other passengers, reminding myself that as soon as | stop feeling sore, I'll have no reason to
still keep being reminded of Zade.
Whatever pretense | had with Zade ends here in this country. Returning back to LA isreturning back to my
reality. And this time, I'll not return hsad and heartbroken like | had thought, cause Marco was mine once
again.
The universe are on my side once again.
After | arrived home, | opened my windows and let sventilation in, turning on the air conditioner as well. I've
missed hso much, and even though it's about a week since | left, it felt like it was up to six months. | felt
immensely happy to be back home, I'll be able to sleep in my dear bed which I've missed so much. It definitely
wouldn't be as comfortable as the one on the island cause | wasn’t that well off and was just doing the best |
could for myself in ny present situation, but it was still my darling bed which had seenthrough thick and thin.
After settling in, | called my mother first. I've missed her so much and couldn't wait to pay her a
visit.
“My little baby, I've missed you so much!” My mother cried out and I grinned fondly as | aired out my small
kitchen as well.
you too, mom. I'll cvisit soon, okay?” | breathed out into the phone and my mother
“Missed
hummed.
“You sound livelier than | expected you to be after you returned from that wedding. | thought you'd be sad and
depressed but you actually sound... happy.” My mother pointed out and I laughed

I didn’t wanna tell her or anyone anything yet, at least not without hearing more from Marco first. After urging
my mother I'll call her back tonight, we talked a few more times then the call ended.
And finally, | put a call through to Marco.
He answered on the second ring.
After he asked if | got hsafely, | responded then decided to get on with it already.
“Why did you end the wedding?”
He responded in the next moment. “I discovered that she was cheating on me.”
