Chapter 564
Orion couldn't help but sigh, "What's got you down?"
"It's the whole Langston family mess," Lemira replied, clinging to him like he was her lifeline, her ear pressed
against his chest, listening to the steady rhythm of his heartbeat.
Seeing her mood, Orion didn't press further. He let her hold on, offering silent support.
Eventually, Lemira calmed down and released her grip, glancing up at him with a touch of embarrassment. She
reached up and playfully pinched his cheek. Even after a couple of days apart, he still looked as handsas
ever, a sight for sore
eyes.
Orion took her hand, gently removing her gloves and giving her wrist a soft massage. "Don't grip so hard next
time, you'll hurt your wrist."
"How did you know?"
"I watched for a while," he admitted.
After landing, Orion had immediately called Lemira, but when she didn't answer, he asked around and found out
she was at the gym. He'd seen her furiously pounding the punching bag and knew something was up. Rather
than interrupt, he let her work it out until she was spent.
Lemira lay back on the mat, watching as Orion used a massage gun to relax her muscles. She enjoyed the
attention guilt-free.
An hour later, he set the tool aside and looked at her. "Hungry?"
"A little."
"What do you feel like eating? If you're not sure, we could head over to Bistrova." Bistrova was Orion's favorite
spot. Lemira nodded, then remembered something. "Oh, | haven't told you-our dorm got a new roommate
recently."
"Right, you mentioned she had smobility issues."
Orion suddenly paused, eyes narrowing as he looked at her. "Is she with the Waverlies?"
"You're sharp. It just so happens our new roommate is Ms. Lemira Waverly, Asher's fiancée."
At first, Lemira hadn't thought much of it. After all, there are plenty of Waverlys- Janice for one. But such was
fate.
Orion's expression turned cautious. "What are the Waverlies up to?"
"I'm not sure. Debby suggested they might be trying to getto connect with them, build a rapport. But things
with the Langstons went south so fast."
Orion agreed with Debby's assessment.
"I'll be careful," Lemira assured him. "I'll try to keep my distance from the new roommate."
The last thing she needed was another public debacle.
Orion handed her a water bottle. "But that's not what's really bothering you, is it?"
"It's the foundation," Lemira confessed, detailing the recent events.
Orion had heard bits from Debby, but the latest Langston family was new to him. He was taken aback.
Evanders got a thing for Evelina? Did he lose part of his mind along with his leg?"
Follow on NovᴇlEnglish.nᴇtEvelina wasn't his idea of a catch.
Lemira sipped her water. "I can't be sure, but think | know why. Since his injury, Evander's been withdrawn, and
Evelina's good at playing sweet and attentive. Makes her stand out, | guess."
Orion looked unimpressed. "Wasn't Evelina trying to snag Dorian? Now she's after your Evander?"
"Evelina's always had a trail of admirers. She's relentless with Dorian, and handling someone like Evander is a
breeze for her."
Evelina's objective was clear: marry into wealth.
"If it weren't for figuring out who's behind Evelina, | wouldn't tolerate her antics," Lemira admitted.
"Got any leads?"Chapter 565
Lemira knew that with more clues, they'd eventually uncover the truth.
Debby continued, "This guy, in terms of family ties, is Evelina's second cousin once removed, and also Evelina's
father's own cousin."
Second cousins?
"Did you find any clues about Evelina's father?"
"That's the strange part. We've been keeping an eye on this guy. He works as a mechanic at a car dealership,
lives in the dorms, and rarely goes out. A lifelong bachelor like him has a pretty simple social life."
Lemira felt a twinge of disappointment. So, no trace of Evelina's father then.
Orion squeezed Lemira's hand. "Don't stress too much. Now that we've found someone, finding Evelina's father
is just a matter of time."
"I know, | just feel a bit anxious and nervous."
Lemira started with a hunch, but unraveling the mystery led her closer to Evelina's father.
Calming herself, Lemira said, "If Evelina's father is just an ordinary guy, why would he dare to kill someone and
install anti-hacking software on Evelina's phone? That's not something a normal person would do."
It was peculiar, indeed.
Orion pondered, "If he's bold enough to kill, and he's done it more than once, then
he's definitely way more cautious than the average person."
"Yeah, how did someone like that end up as my parents’ driver?"
The car accident seemed suspicious to Lemira.
The driver was definitely a problem.
Orion felt a surge of determination. "We'll get to the bottom of this, hang tight."
He was willing to go to any lengths to uncover the truth.
Lemira nodded. "It's just a shthat Evander got involved with the foundation business this time. Otherwise,
Evelina's backers might have shown themselves, giving us more clues."
But she wasn't going to give up.
Orion looked at her. "But about the driver, it's been years. You'll have to ask someone from the Langston family."
Lemira knew that the only person she could ask now was Lucian.
Asher's fondness for Evelina might lead him to do something rash.
Since Lucian managed all the family affairs, he was bound to know something.
But Lucian was undergoing surgery, and she needed to ask in person to avoid complications.
She couldn't afford any slip-ups; if Evelina's father caught wind of anything, he would surely flee.
Lemira couldn't take that risk; every step had to be cautious.

capabilities."
Debby quickly chimed in, "Ms. Langston, leave this to us."
In reality, without the Everhart heir's involvement, the PR team wouldn't stand a chance.
After changing, Lemira and Orion headed to Bistrova for dinner.
As they stepped out of the car, they ran into familiar faces.
Lemira spotted Evander in a wheelchair with Evelina, laughing as they
approached the entrance of Bistrova.
Evander, noticing Lemira, frowned immediately. "What are you doing here?"
Lemira responded nonchalantly, "Just here for dinner."
"Lemira, did you find out Asher's meeting with the Waverlies today, so you chere to cause trouble?"
Evander couldn't help but look disapprovingly at Lemira, bothered by her treatment of the girl he liked.
Lemira chuckled, realizing Asher indeed sought out the Waverlies for Evander's sake.
Clearly, Asher felt guilty about what happened with the amputation back then.

Lemira sneered, "I'm not interested in your Langston family affairs."
She turned, taking Orion's hand, and together they headed toward Bistrova's entrance.
Seeing this, Evelina called out in frustration, "Lemmy, without Asher's permission, you can't get in."
